Unusual Fox
I have seen short tailed foxes before there was no sign of injury but this one looks as if he was born without one

Probably all that "nuclear" testing suff that has been going on for 50+ years!! Or that "organic foods" trend that has been in the news as of late!!!Or maybe it was one oif the genetic screwups that has been happening since procreation was invented!! The darn fox looked like (body wise) it wasn't suffering much.........looked prettydarned fat in the picture!!!! GHD

Had one like that floating around the deer stands a few years ago. He was so fat, we gave him the nickname butterball.

my opiniin
Having helped out with a wildlife reb organization here locally, I'm thinking that at one time he had mange and was either treated and released (quit common practice ) or had miraculously fought off the mites naturally. Either way he would have lost the tail.
