8208
It seems to me that it would be a handy powder in the 204R does anyone here use it in the 20PPC with 40gr v-max

Ive tried 8208 XBR in 22BR , 6BR and have some in a 20 Practical but have not put it to the test yet . It has performed so well in the first 2 that i bought 8lb jug. I'm trying to limit myself to a couple of powders and cut my inventory. Very pleased with the results as far as accuracy .Someday it will get the chronograph test .

I have used it in a 204R, with 40gr bullets, and had excellent results...I did however, giv ethe results to the gentleman who bought the rifle I tried it in. Sorry I didn't keep a copy for myself
It is worth trying out, IMO. I have been impressed with this powder in everything I have tried it in, case size, and bullet weight appropriate. From Memory, I have tried it in 20 Bobcat, 223, 20 Prac, 17FB, 20VT(too slow for this one)22-250, and 204R. Good luck, and be sure to post your results...that will help others out as well. larry

I find the br case is 2.4 grs more than the PPC case, So if this helps I use 31.4 grs of 8208 in a 20 BR with 39 gr Blits kings.

Anyone have a load for 20 Tactical with 8208 (34gr HP)? Just got a pound, and since they're were completely out of 322, I'm in a bind. Heading up to MT in a few weeks, and need to get some loading done.
TIA

I can't find any of the notes...I gave them to the gun owner when I worked his rifle up...but I think I used it with only 40's.
Do you have any 4198? This powder is, or has been "the one" in this case, IMO for speed and accuracy. VV N-133 as well, although much less(2-300 fps) velocity in the rifle I tested. Added: This powder has proven to be an easy one to work up in every rifle I have tried it in. Truthfully, I have started in the middle of the load map, and worked up in .2-.3 gr increments. Everything I have tried it in, has ended up in the top 25%, or higher in the load range. While I haven't ever gone over published max, in any of them, most seem as though you could, as there were no high pressure signs in any that I got to the top, while finding the accuracy node....I hope that makes sense. Larry,
Thanks for the dope, I appreciate it! Looking at what everyone has been doing, I'm thinking I may start out with 26gr'ish load for the 34gr'ers (maybe even 26.5).... My only hesitancy is that I'm using LC brass, so my have a little less volume/pressure variance to play with... Thoughts?
