Default TC Contender BBL

I do have a Super 16 BBL in .45/70. Near new condition, with sights. PM if there's an interest in this caliber.

I'm not a fast learner , it took me 3 shots from my 16'' 45/70 to put it down.

Ray I am even slower. I can’t remember if mine was a 14” or 16” but an afternoon at the range left me with the bridge of my nose scraped and bleeding from the scope, both hands bleeding and a knot on my forehead from contact by the barrel. I don’t remember how shots I fired that afternoon but the barrel was sold shortly. When I got back from the range that afternoon my wife slowly looked me over and asked “Did you have a good time at the range?”

And here I am asking about buying another. Talk about slow learner!

Default TC Contender barrel

Last call for a relatively powerful barrel for Illinois handgun deer hunting (357 Max, 45 Colt or 45/70) 14” to 20” in length. I will likely give Ed’s TCs a call a little later this week.

Anybody? I tried to follow up with dtalbot but haven’t received a reply.

Gary: As long as your looking for something in the 357 Max line, why not do more checking on the new 350 Legend round coming out ? 223 base cartridge, straight walled and in 357 cal ? should make a better round that even the 357 Max, from what I have read so far. New shot show item and Winchester also is making a bolt rifle for it. Of course we could get MGM, Bellm's and other's I am sure to come up with barrels for our single shots and TC/s. Bill K

Probably bears further investigation. Is the performance better than the Max? I haven’t seen anything definitive yet and would appreciate any pointers to information on its performance.

I also have brass, dies and reloading components already for the 357 Max (I had a Ruger 357 Max revolver) but I am flexible in that regard. I also tend to favor rimmed cartridges in the Contender. Looks like Starline is making brass that would work for the 350 Legend.

Thanks for the input.

How about a 375 Winchester or a 44 magnum barrel?
I think I have these tucked away somewhere.
I'll go take a look.

Not a lot of info out that I can find yet, but some says it hits like a 243 W, but less recoil and all. the Rebated rim would be like the 204 and 223 cases that we have in our contender barrels now. I would think this one would headspace on the case mouth and base of cartridge against the action face, like some others do. More info should be forth coming from either Winchester or future info on Shot Show information and new products. I keep looking. But it does peek my interest as I would think it would be a lot more potent that the 357 Max. Bill K
