Until then I will settle for and remain very grateful that we have a 17 WSM.

Matt the 17 WSM’s only advantage for me personally, is that it’s a rimfire and would be awesome in a semi automatic firearm and not be concerned about losing my brass

I’m pretty sure that I will pass on owning a Ruger and go right to a Franklin Armory upper when the timing is right.
GL,

Check out the WSM upper from Jard, It's about $400 cheaper than the Franklin.

Good price compared to the Franklin, but the magazines seem a little pricey

thanks long shot! I’ll sure check them out and appreciate the info. Do you have one? Just curious to make sure they shoot and function as good as the FA (I know Eric has posted some very good reviews of the FA thus why I’m looking at them)

Guy on RFC has a Franklin Armory upper if anyone is interested. I have no affiliation with the seller.

No. Aacademy Sports buyers just bought more than they could sell in a timely fashion, so they're trying to clear store shelves of old stock. At least that's what a gun department lead person told me yesterday when he told me it was on sale.

I was in an Academy close to my house yesterday seeing if they had any Rem 700's in 223 at their usual $379 price to serve as a donor.

Not sure what they charge for shipping but this is about the cheapest I've ever seen 17 HMR go for.
