todays shoot 22 nosler
just put my ar-15 together last night and did a sight in and 1 group with 62 gr nosler factory loads.
to say it was windy was an under statement but just couldn't wait for a calm day. worse yet I had pulled my flags for some needed repairs. all in all I am pleased.

Nice! Feels good to get out regardless of conditions sometimes Particularly when your messing with a "new one."

Looks good! Can you give more info on your build?
I also started with the 62 grain Varmageddon factory ammo, but now I reload the 60 grain Ballistic tip. The 62 grain was accurate, but my reloads are extremely accurate and do what BTs do best on varmints! You are going to have a blast with it! |

Interesting, boys. I don' t have the .22 Nosler, but the 62gr. HP Varmegeddon is one of the most accurate bullets in my 26", 22-250 - something over 3,600fps & it's supposed to be a 14" twist.

Mine is an Odin works upper on a Founding Fathers Lower (manufacturer here in the Boise area).
Here are my loads: Nosler Ballistic Tips - 60 grains H335 - 27.0 grains Remington 7.5BR primers OAL - 2.25" The Nosler brass is slightly soft, so I saw a bunch of swipes using the factory brass. I don't load them really hot and have zero issues with the brass now. |

eric I wonder if the nosler brass disappears whether you could make brass from 6.8 spc and use a 6.8 spc carrier bolt? pretty sure they are both made from the same brass.
have you chrono graphed the load yet? good to know about the 62's Daryl. I will have to try them in my 1-9 twist 22-250 AI. Eric I guess you and I are it when it comes to 22 nosler.

foxhunter,
yes you can its what's referred to as the 22 nosgar. It works very good and gets rid of the brass issues that plagued the .22 Nosler in the beginning but have heard that's been corrected. |

eric have you shot any of the factory 55 gr loaded ammo. I picked up a box tonight on sale for 1/2 price. local farm store has all their nosler on sale for 1/2 price.

No reason not to. Now you have a 224 Valkyrie. Very simple and very easy cartridge to play with. Great at long range with the heavy bullets also. Bill K |
